From market insights, internship applications, role revelations to practical job hunting strategies, they delivered a highly informative session packed with actionable takeaways, helping students avoid common pitfalls on their job-hunting journey.
Insights into the Greater Bay Area Employment and Talent Market
Katherine, CMO of HiredChina, provided a macro-level analysis of current industry demands for international talent in the Greater Bay Area. She highlighted that business/finance, foreign trade/e-commerce, high-tech/IT, and education are currently the four major employment sectors attracting the most international professionals.
For different roles, she offered precise “personas”:
- Finance/Business roles: Prefer candidates with clear logic and strong data analysis skills; Excel is essential, while SQL and BI tools are added advantages.
- Foreign Trade/Marketing roles: Language proficiency and cross-cultural communication are both indispensable; candidates familiar with overseas markets and social media operations have greater competitiveness.
- High-tech/Engineering roles: Positions in AI, data analytics, and product management are ideal for STEM-background talents to shine.
- Education roles: TEFL or TESOL certification serves as the “key” to entering this field.
She emphasized that while AI may replace certain technical tasks, communication, negotiation, empathy, and other interpersonal skills cannot be replicated by machines—precisely the core strengths of business-related roles. Meanwhile, the language proficiency and cross-cultural experience of business and management students are exactly what companies view as “rare resources.”
As a professional organization specializing in cross-border human resources services, HiredChina remains committed to connecting international talent with outbound enterprises. We hope through such sharing sessions, more students can better understand market trends, clarify their positioning, and seize opportunities in the wave of employment in the Greater Bay Area.
Going forward, HiredChina will continue visiting campuses to deliver more practical insights and job-hunting guidance, empowering young talents to confidently advance on the global stage.
