Job Responsibilities

Plans and implements strategy for driving business development results from small, mid-sized, and large biopharma companies across North America while cultivating relationships, identifying opportunities and further developing and leading the RCS US BD team to deliver RCS’s growth aspirations. Lead to create a strong team environment and focus. Lead, manage, mentor, and develop existing BD team members, and recruit additional members to better service and develop clients in North America. Serves as a subject-matter-expert for discovery and research chemistry, and coaches and mentors less experienced Business Development team members. Working with RCS senior leadership to significant contributor to the design, creation, and implementation of RCS business development strategy. Contribute to efforts that clearly articulate key messages and images of RCS as a solutions provider to prospective customers. Key role to identify, triage, and prioritize leads; develop filtering process; coordinate meeting discussion with technical team; help set direction towards next steps and outcome; and closely follow-up with coordinated efforts with senior RCS leadership. Partner with the RCS leaders on positioning and go-to-market strategies, which includes identifying, establishing, and maintaining strategic relationships with customers and industry opinion leaders. Proactively work with other team members, such as BD team members, Marketing, Integrated Project Management, Technical Groups, and Operations to ensure objectives and goals are achieved. Identify and successfully implement differentiated BD mechanisms toward result-driven growth for RCS. Recognized as a resource and go-to person for best business practices resulting in growing RCS business. Collaborates with Marketing to develop marketing campaigns and analyze inbound marketing data/trends to drive new business. Key BD liaison along with senior leadership during crisis management; create business solutions and engaged in business continuity planning as well as execution when the need arises. Ensure successful partner visits to China, the US, and other new potential RCS entities worldwide. Create new opportunities for the Research Services Division and develop new relationships to expand and grow our customer base Grow revenue through cross-selling into existing accounts, managing the portfolio of customers and generating new business Proactively manages any assigned key strategic accounts in North America Stays current on competitors and competitive strategies and provides input needed for the development of future services and products Builds strong internal relationships across functions

Job Requirements

Experience / Education: 15 + years of experience at a pharmaceutical company, biotech or Contract Research Organization (CRO) or equivalent with an established track record in leading a team. Strong scientific expertise and new drug development insight A professional degree in science or pharmaceuticals - BA/BS required, M.S. or above preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Must have strong leadership and management skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effective influencing skills. Decisive business leader who will thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced business culture. Demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities and develop daring and innovative marketing and sales strategies to capitalize on those opportunities. Excellent presentation and communications skills; ability to assimilate sophisticated concepts and clearly articulate business value. Consistently demonstrates honesty and integrity through personal example Compliance with the company code of conduct, policies, and regulatory standards.
