Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development & Instruction:
* Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive drama curriculum, encompassing acting techniques, theatre history, script analysis, and production skills.
* Provide direct instruction to students in drama classes, focusing on performance skills, vocal projection, movement, character development, and ensemble work.
* Plan and execute 15-20 teaching hours per week of engaging, practical drama workshops and rehearsals.
2. Production & Performance Leadership:
* Direct and produce school plays, musicals, or other theatrical performances throughout the academic year.
3. Academic Coordination & Collaboration:
* Collaborate with other department heads and teachers to explore cross-curricular projects and integrate drama with other subjects.
* Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with learning objectives.
* Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their artistic and academic progress in drama.
4. Administrative Duties & Reporting:
* Manage the drama department resources, including budgets for productions, costumes, props, and scripts.
* Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and the school community regarding drama activities and student achievements.
